Mid-East Student Finishes First In Nation with Perfect Score
Mid-East Career and Technology Centers’ student Alyssa Adams recently competed in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) National Conference in Orlando, Florida. Adams, who is a 2012 graduate of the Early Childhood Education Program at Mid-East and West Muskingum High School, competed in the “Focus on Children” Event which had over 300 students from across the nation participating. Adams created a project that supports children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. She researched her topic and created a penguin that provides music/vibration stimulation to help sooth children with the syndrome. She received a perfect score of 100 giving her the first place title and recipient of the gold medal. Adams plans to continue to share her project with future Early Childhood Education students and at the Zane State Campus where she is enrolled for fall semester 2012. Adams is the daughter of Boyd and Tamera Adams. Katie Lucas is the Early Childhood Education instructor and FCCLA Advisor at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers.
