Students from Mid-East were recently able to showcase their career-tech programs at a Classroom Career Day held at East Muskingum’s Larry Miller Intermediate School. The event was held for over 525 third through fifth grade students. Mid-East programs featured during the day included Cosmetology; Criminal Justice; Early Childhood Education; Computer Networking/Electronic Technology; Natural Resource Conservation; Robotics, Automation & Design; and Welding Technology. Elementary students rotated to presenters where they learned about education requirements, tools, job outlook, job environment and more for each career field. The Career Day was coordinated by Robin McQuaid, Mid-East Career Specialist; Mike House, Larry Miller Intermediate principal; and Janelle Phipps, Larry Miller Intermediate music teacher and Career & College Readiness Liaison.

Students heard about various aspects of the careers represented and had the opportunity to interact with Mid-East presenters trying out their equipment and asking questions.
