Mid-East Partners with Maysville Elementary School for Career Day

Students from Mid-East Career and Technology Centers were recently able to showcase their career-tech programs at a Career Day held at Maysville Elementary School. The event was held for over 380 fourth and fifth grade students. Mid-East programs featured during the day included Applied Engineering & Machining; Auto Body Repair; Diesel Technology; Electrical Technologies; Natural Resource Conservation; Power Line Technician; Practical Nurse; and Robotics, Automation & Design.  There were also nine community business people who participated in the event. Elementary students rotated to presenters where they learned about education requirements, tools, job outlook, job environment and more for each career field. The Career Day was coordinated by Robin McQuaid from Mid-East and Aubrey Dollings, Maysville Elementary Guidance Counselor.

Students heard about various aspects of the careers represented and had the opportunity to interact with Mid-East and community presenters trying out their equipment and asking questions.
